PalmEmergency services have evacuated some residents, including a mother and her baby, as a precaution due to the farm fire that broke out this Thursday afternoon at 5:40 p.m. in Manacor, near the Ma-15 highway, near the wastewater treatment plant. The fire, which burned 3.03 hectares, was declared under control around 7:30 p.m.

Two aircraft, in addition to the Milana helicopter—which has been activated for the first time since July by the Mallorca Fire Department—have worked on extinguishing the fire, along with personnel from the Balearic Institute of Nature (Ibanat) and firefighters from the Manacor and Artà fire stations. The fire started near buildings and affected homes and animals, although no one was injured, according to Europa Press. Around 9 p.m., firefighters were still working on the scene, extinguishing hot spots. A reinforcement team will be deployed overnight to cool the area.

As for homes, none were affected, and Civil Protection in Montuïri and Vilafranca has protected three small farmhouses.

Due to weather conditions, the maximum forest fire danger level, Fire Alert 4, has been activated this Thursday in Manacor, among other municipalities on the island, such as Muro, Petra, Sineu, Santa Margalida, Ariany, and Maria de la Salut.
