PalmCEIP Verge de Lluc has had to suspend the end-of-year trip to the beach after, according to the school's complaint, the bus company Emilio y Joaquín López SL failed to fulfill the commitment made since March and assigned the vehicles to the tourism sector. The school assures that it already received notice of the possible cancellation two days prior, which was definitively confirmed this Wednesday.

The center regrets that the decision has harmed an activity that aimed to bring all students together and facilitate access to the beach for children who, for economic or social reasons, have difficulties. In a statement, it calls on the Government for a regulation of school transport that guarantees the service during the high season and denounces that schools are relegated when tourist demand increases.

"For them, the transport of the tourists who visit us is more important, but there are families who, unfortunately, have difficulties accessing the beach. At this time, the Government should be able to respond to this," he said.

That is why, he announced, his parliamentary group will present – after the summer break – a non-legislative proposal so that the Ministry of Education and Universities "shields school transport to guarantee that children have the capacity to enjoy excursions that contribute to their education". "The minister must not allow this and must launch a strategy so that these situations do not happen again," insisted the socialist.
