PalmaThe Civil Guard arrested two young women on Wednesday at their homes as allegedly responsible for several graffiti on five real estate agencies in Santa Maria del Camí. The arrest occurred as a result of the investigation that began after the complaints filed by the owners of the affected premises and was taken over by agents from the Pont d'Inca barracks. The detainees were arrested at their homes

The police report, accessed by ARA Balears, which points to crimes of damage to historical heritage, continuous damage, and belonging to a criminal group. Throughout the document, of more than 116 pages, the Guardia Civil points out the investigations carried out, among which some stand out for their incriminating component and supposed ideological links, such as the link of these events to the platform Menys Turisme, Més Vida or the pro-independence collective Arran.

One of the examples appears in the section dedicated to one of the detainees. The agents point to a banner hung on the facade of her home with the slogan "SOS Residents. STOP Overtourism" as supposed incriminating evidence and add textually: "It is tremendously striking that this person has a banner at her home with the slogan 'SOS Residents. STOP Overtourism', thus confirming, without any doubt, this person's criminal activity." The investigation also includes exhaustive surveillance and tracking tasks on one of the detainees for several days, even following her on the train until her arrival at her destination and photographing her face.

Another of the notable proceedings recorded in the investigation is the seizure of mobile phones at the time of arrest without the reason being stated. Despite everything, it is unknown whether, in addition to seizing the phones, the agents have accessed their content, since judicial authorization would be required to carry out this search.
