The police operation resulted in seven arrests and the seizure of various quantities of narcotics and cash
PalmaSome of the seven detainees in the police operation deployed this Thursday in Son Banya allegedly tried to hide drugs and cash in a hole when they were surprised by more than a hundred officers.
According to the Superior Headquarters of the Police of the Balearic Islands, the suspects reacted by fleeing on foot upon detecting the entry of the National Police and the Local Police of Palma into the premises.
During the escape, some of those involved allegedly tried to get rid of narcotic substances and cash, throwing them into a hole located in the area.
The police intervention, however, led to the arrest of those involved and the recovery of the hidden material. The operation resulted in a total of seven arrests and the seizure of various quantities of drugs and cash.
It should be recalled that this operation is part of the police operations carried out periodically in Son Banya to combat drug trafficking and other illegal activities. The action involved different units of the National Police and the Local Police of Palma, with the support of municipal services, and ended with the dismantling of several points of sale of narcotic substances, some of which were subsequently demolished due to urban planning violations. Several fines for traffic violations and other criminal proceedings were also filed.
