The eclipse in Manacor and Portocristo in images: "What a blast, it looks like a planet from 'Star Wars'!"
Na Molla park fills with families to experience the 90 seconds of darkness, while Portocristo offers a spectacular scene by the sea
ManacorIn Manacor, the Na Molla park, the place recommended by the City Council just 300 meters from the urban center, has been filled with people to contemplate the solar eclipse in a familiar and relaxed way. An hour before, many had taken advantage of this green esplanade located next to IES Manacor, to set up their own camp, with chairs, tables, and something to snack on, in order to prepare for the phenomenon.
Applause, emotion and phrases like "what an amazing thing!" and "it looks like a planet from Star Wars!" have alternated with open mouths during 90 seconds of filtered darkness, which left no one indifferent. In fact, many have left calculating how many years are left until the next one.
In Portocristo, the views from the terraces overlooking the Riuet have been equally spectacular when the Moon, at 8:30 PM, positioned itself directly in front of the Sun, creating a ring of fire, just above the shipyard.
