PalmaThe Palma Firefighters intervened this Saturday in a fire declared on the roof of the Faculty of Hospitality of the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), in Palma.
The fire originated on the building's roof and is now under control, the municipal Fire Department has reported.
The UIB has reported that the fire started around 3:00 PM and was extinguished shortly after thanks to the intervention of the Palma Fire Department. The fire only caused material damage and no personal injuries were reported.
The causes of the fire, which only affected the building's roof, are still unknown. The fire did not affect the activities that were carried out throughout Saturday morning and the forecast is that academic activity will resume on Monday morning as normal.
