The GOB denounces the fact that the unlicensed bar in Son Moll remains open.
The entity has requested that, in light of this alleged irregularity, the Coastal Authority close the establishment and sanction the City Council.
PalmThe GOB has once again denounced the alleged unlicensed operation of a kiosk-bar on Son Moll beach in Capdepera. The environmental organization recalled that on August 9, 2024, they filed a complaint with the Coastal Demarcation for the alleged unauthorized operation of the kiosk. However, after more than a year, they regret that they have not received any response regarding the reported events. During this time, they indicated, the kiosk continued to operate, so they filed a new complaint.
The GOB recalled that on June 11, 2024, the General Directorate of Coasts and Coastline of the Government authorized the occupation of the public maritime-terrestrial domain lands for the seasonal facilities planned in the application submitted by the Capdepera City Council, to be operated by the same. On page 9 of this authorization, there is a list of authorized facilities and elements of the six beaches in Capdepera, which does not include the Son Moll kiosk-bar, which also has a terrace, according to the entity.
According to the royal decree that in 2022 decreed the transfer of powers over coastal matters to the regional administration, the sanctioning power and the recovery of seized assets fall under the jurisdiction of the general administration of the State for occupations of the maritime-terrestrial public domain that do not have a prior enabling title. Despite the fact that the Capdepera City Council did not have prior authorization for the use and operation of the kiosk, the GOB regretted, it nevertheless proceeded to tender and award it. In light of this alleged illegality, the entity has requested that the Coastal Demarcation close the aforementioned establishment, sanction the City Council, and communicate what administrative actions it has taken in the last two years.
