Mallorca's trains recover their usual timetables and double track in Marratxí
SFM will increase frequencies from this Tuesday, after the reduction of service during the month of August
PalmaMallorca's trains will recover their usual timetables this Tuesday, September 1st, after the service reduction applied during August. Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca (SFM) will increase frequencies and the number of daily trains again with the arrival of September.
Circulation on both tracks will also be restored in the section between Son Fuster and Marratxí industrial estate stations. In this way, the stations affected by the works will return to normal operation and trains will be able to use both platforms again.
SFM adapts its timetables each summer to adjust the service to the lower passenger flow during August. Since 2024, this reduction is only applied during this month, while the usual service is maintained throughout July.
This summer, however, the timetables have also been conditioned by the expansion and modernization works of the Son Rul·lan workshops. The work has forced the establishment of single-track circulation between Marratxí industrial estate and Son Fuster, an action that SFM concentrated during August to try to reduce inconvenience to users.
From this Tuesday, therefore, both double-track circulation in the affected section and the usual timetables of the railway service will be restored.
