The Gira-Sol Association hopes that the Government will resolve the new concession as soon as possible.

The Velódromo bar, managed by the Gira-Sol Association for the past five years, is closing this Tuesday because the current concession expires and the Regional Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Sports "has not been able to issue a new tender, nor is it possible to extend the service concession," the organization explained in a statement on Instagram. For all these reasons, the Association is forced to close the establishment where vocational training courses were offered to create job opportunities for people with mental health problems, where services and food were offered, and where more than twenty employees worked.

This space has created job and training opportunities for more than 120 people with mental health problems. In this way, they have combated prejudices and stigmas on the street, demonstrating that with support, professionalism, and trust, it is possible to change perspectives and improve lives. In short, the Gira-Sol Association built a bar "with heart and soul" that has offered local cuisine and friendly, quality service.

The Association wanted to thank its customers for their welcome and support. "Thank you to the customers who believed in this dream made of values, opportunities, and a commitment to quality, health, life, and a better Mallorca and society." It also wanted to thank the Ministry of Families, Social Welfare, and Dependency Care and the Ministry of Health and Consumer Affairs for their "close work and collaboration."

However, the non-profit organization has asked the Government to "resolve the new tender as soon as possible to once again provide opportunities for vulnerable people." "From the Velodrome or wherever we may be, we will continue to defend and always work for a better world, free of stigma and full of mental health and opportunities for all," it made clear.
