Jail without bail for the couple who tried to kidnap a woman in Son Ferriol
The events took place this past Sunday at noon.
PalmA judge in Palma has ordered the provisional imprisonment of the couple accused of attempting to kidnap a woman in Son Ferriol. The decision was made this Tuesday by the head of Courtroom 1 of the Palma Court of First Instance after the suspects were arrested and brought before the court by the National Police. After taking their statements, judicial sources confirmed to Europa Press, the magistrate ordered their provisional detention without bail as alleged perpetrators of attempted unlawful detention. The incident dates back to midday last Sunday, when the couple, a man and a woman, tried to force a woman in her sixties into their vehicle. Upon arriving at the scene, according to the Balearic Islands Police Headquarters, officers found the victim with multiple bruises and in a very distressed state. The woman had been helped by her husband and several witnesses who prevented the suspects from completing the kidnapping and fleeing the scene in the vehicle. The witnesses provided a description of the alleged perpetrators, and several patrols carried out raids in the area until they located and arrested them. Investigators determined that the victim was waiting for a relative at a roundabout in Son Ferriol when a vehicle occupied by the suspects appeared and told her to get in. The victim refused, so the female suspect got out of the car, grabbed her arm tightly, and pushed her, trying to force it inside. "Get in the car," she said. At that moment, a struggle ensued, and the victim managed to escape and flee to her home while being chased by the woman. The assailant went toward the victim, and another struggle ensued. The victim fell to the ground and the assailant continued trying to force her into the vehicle. However, she called for help and her husband and a worker came to her aid.
