"It is our home": a banner is installed at Palma airport asking tourists to respect the island
The canvas, 39 meters wide by 15 high, has been installed at the main tourist entrance point to Mallorca, coinciding with the central stretch of the tourist season
PalmaThe Hotel Business Federation of Mallorca (FEHM) has unfurled a large banner at Palma airport with a message appealing for respect for the environment and coexistence between visitors and residents. With the slogan 'This is your holiday. This is our home' – in Catalan, 'These are your holidays. This is our home'–, the action coincides with the central part of the tourist season and follows the launch of the campaign on June 10th called 'Thanks for visiting Mallorca' - 'Thank you for visiting Mallorca'-, which includes fifteen advertising supports at different points on the island.
The new canvas, 39 meters wide and 15 meters high, has been installed at the main tourist entrance point to Mallorca, the hotel association reported in a statement. According to the hotel employers' association, the aim of this campaign is to remind visitors from their arrival on the island that Mallorca is a tourist destination, but also the home of those who live and work there, with messages that appeal for shared responsibility in the conservation of the environment and good coexistence with its inhabitants.
The president of the hotel employers' association, Javier Vich, has argued that tourism and citizenship "are part of the same reality" and has pointed out that the well-being of residents contributes to maintaining Mallorca as an internationally renowned tourist destination.
The campaign also includes actions on social networks linked to the 'Tourism that Adds' initiative, promoted by Exceltur, the main hotel employers' association in Mallorca has specified.
