The ITV of Mallorca foresees making some 200,000 more inspections until the end of the year
During the months of July and August, inspections have been reduced due to workers' holidays and summer hours
PalmaThe Consell de Mallorca anticipates that by the end of the year, approximately 200,000 ITV inspections will be carried out, a figure that would allow for around 534,000 vehicle inspections in 2026, in line with those performed last year. In fact, 350,898 technical vehicle inspections have already been conducted this year.
During July and August, inspections were reduced due to staff holidays and summer hours, as explained by administration sources this Wednesday. Nevertheless, waiting lists have practically remained unchanged.
Starting in September, the Consell de Mallorca plans to offer citizens a total of 183,550 appointments for ITV tests. This projection could exceed 200,000 depending on user demand. In fact, between 40,000 and 50,000 monthly inspections are expected to be carried out by the end of the year at the five ITV stations in Mallorca.
At almost all ITV stations, there is a waiting list of between 3 and 10 days for inspections, except at the Manacor station, where it is between 10 and 15 days. For this reason, the Consell de Mallorca will open a new ITV station in Campos, with a capacity for 5,000 vehicles per month, to support the Manacor station, which is currently experiencing an overload of work.
With this opening, both Campos and the surrounding municipalities – Llucmajor, Felanitx, ses Salines, Santanyí, and Porreres – will have a permanent, closer, and more efficient ITV service. The new Campos station is expected to begin operating before the end of the year.
These figures were announced during the visit to the new ITV station in the Son Bugadelles industrial estate, in Calvià, by the Minister of Territory, Mobility, and Infrastructure, Fernando Rubio, along with the technical secretary of Territory, José Penadés, and the manager of the Calvià Town Hall, José Alemany.
