Service sector turnover grew by 8.3% in the Balearic Islands in July.

Regarding employment in the sector, in the Islands it increased by 3.4% compared to the same month last year.

PalmTurnover in the services sector in the Balearic Islands grew by 8.3% in July compared to the same month last year, well above the average increase recorded for Spain as a whole, which stood at 4.7%.

According to data published this Friday by the National Statistics Institute (INE), the Balearic Islands occupy third position, behind the Canary Islands (8.7%) and Extremadura (8.5%), and ahead of the Basque Country (8.1%), La Rioja (7.5%), and Navarre (7.1%).

On the other hand, Galicia (3.1%), the Valencian Community (3.2%), and Catalonia (3.2%) were the Spanish regions that registered the lowest increases.

Regarding employment in the sector, it increased by 3.4% in the Balearic Islands compared to the same month last year, above the national average, which stands at 1.4%.

Regarding the annual average data, it stands at 2.7%, also above the Spanish average (1.4%), while compared to the previous month, the Autonomous Community grew by 1.7%.
