The agreement includes measures that favor the organization of working time, such as a paid daily break of 30 minutes and the recognition of training carried out during working hours as working time.

As they have highlighted, adaptations are also foreseen for groups with special schedules, according to the needs of the services.

The agreement, approved unanimously between the Administration and the unions, will take effect from June 1, 2026, and is part of the development of the legislative pact signed in February last year between the Government and the trade union organizations.

Salary increase of 1.5%

On the other hand, the Governing Council has given the green light to the 1.5% salary increase for staff in the service of the autonomous community's Administration and the rest of the bodies forming part of the autonomous public sector.

The measure allows for the application of the salary increase planned for the year 2026, which will be applied to the salaries in effect on December 31, 2025, and will have retroactive economic effects from January 1 of that year.

The autonomous Executive plans to pay this increase, as well as the corresponding back payments, preferentially in the May payroll.

The agreement benefits all staff of the Balearic Administration and the instrumental public sector bodies and is part of the measures promoted by the Government to guarantee the maintenance of the purchasing power of public employees and provide stability to the working conditions of staff in the service of public administrations.

Improvement of holidays

Also in labor matters, the Governing Council has ratified an agreement that improves the holidays for civil servants. The measure, also agreed at the Sectoral Services Table on April 30, introduces more flexibility in the organization of holidays.

Among the new features, it is established that additional vacation days for seniority can be enjoyed from the year following the completion of the corresponding service period, which facilitates their application.

In addition, it allows for holidays to be taken outside the ordinary period throughout the year, in minimum periods of five consecutive business days, provided that the needs of the service allow it.

The objective, as pointed out by the Government, is to better adapt the organization of working time to the needs of workers and public services.
