Alcúdia transforms into a grand circus stage: the eleventh edition of CircAire arrives
From this Friday and until Sunday, the Festival hosts 26 performances and two concerts
PalmAlcúdia once again becomes, this weekend, for the eleventh edition, a grand circus stage. From this Friday until Sunday, the municipality will host an intense program of the best shows of this discipline in its contemporary and outdoor version.
After commemorating its tenth anniversary in 2025 with a special edition, the festival returns this year with a focus on its origins and the audience that has made its trajectory possible. CircAire thus reaffirms its commitment to an accessible, friendly, and quality model of contemporary circus, built over a decade in complicity with the community.
The program for this edition will feature the participation of 21 companies offering 26 performances and two concerts, with a clear emphasis on local talent, which will share the billing with artists from all over the region and three international acts from Belgium, Italy, and France.
For three days, the historic center of Alcúdia will be transformed into an open-air stage with contemporary circus shows including acrobatics, juggling, clowning, and hybrid proposals between music and performing arts, with formats ranging from large productions to intimate street pieces.
One of the festival's distinguishing features continues to be accessibility: nearly 85% of the program will be free, while some larger format performances or those in enclosed spaces will require tickets, which can be purchased through the TicketIB platform or at the festival itself.
Among the highlights is Orquesta de Malabares (Juggling Orchestra), by the company Pistacatro, winner of the National Circus Award 2025, which will be presented in collaboration with the Alcúdia Municipal Music Band under the direction of Jaume Garcia. The festival also includes other notable proposals such as original contemporary circus shows, as well as musical performances by Perrakos Sound System and Daniel Higiénico.
The shows will be spread across the streets and squares of the historic center and the Port of Alcúdia, and as a new addition, a new central space, Espai CircAire in the bullring, is incorporated, which will host some of the main events and also serve as an information and ticket sales point.
This Thursday, during the presentation, attendees were able to enjoy a preview of the show IO, by Tiramillas Circo, which set the contemporary and emotional tone for this edition. The event was attended by the Mayoress of Alcúdia, Fina Linares; the Councillor for Culture, Àngela Amer; the artistic director of CircAire, Sebastià Jordà; the insular director of Culture, Andreu Ferrer, and the culture technician Carme Suárez.
With more than a decade of trajectory, CircAire has established itself as an essential event on Mallorca's cultural calendar, with a proposal that champions public space, proximity, and citizen participation to transform the circus into a shared experience.
