Fire controlled at Mac Insular waste plant in Porreres
The fire broke out at dawn for reasons still unknown and has mobilized units from the Llucmajor and Felanitx Fire stations
PorreresThe Mallorca Firefighters have controlled this Sunday a fire declared at the Mac Insular waste treatment plant, located in the municipality of Porreres.
The fire started around 2:00 AM for reasons that, at the moment, are unknown. At 11:00 AM, according to the Mallorca Firefighters, the fire was already considered controlled, although the crews continued to work in the area.
Crews from the Llucmajor and Felanitx Fire Stations were dispatched to the facilities and participated in the extinction efforts.
The fire affected the Mac Insular plant, a company that holds the concession for the public service of managing demolition waste, bulky waste, and tires in Mallorca. At the moment, the causes of the fire have not been disclosed, nor if any personal injuries have been reported.
