Don't miss a single one
Some cultural recommendations for next week

The week begins with Cati Moyà
I will go up at Alaró Castle to enjoy one of the most special concerts of the summer. After debuting this stage last year with Maika Makovski, the organizers of the Sonsdenit series are returning with two of the local scene's leading artists: Miquel Serra and Joan Miquel Oliver. And although the Alaró concert will be just one of the stops on their summer tour together, it's sure to be one of the most memorable: to get there, they and everyone else will have to hike up to the castle, at most with the help of a couple of donkeys. It won't be the last chance to see them together, as at the end of the month they'll be playing in both Sant Llorenç and Pollença. Wednesday, August 6, at 7:55 p.m., at Alaró Castle.
I will be in the Canyamel tower, in Capdepera, on the occasion of the cycle Roots, organized by the Torre de Canyamel Group for over twenty years and benefiting the Friends of Tilloli Association. Maria del Mar Bonet will kick off the program with an intimate concert, with a maximum capacity of 95 people, inside the historic tower. Friday, August 8, at 9 p.m.
I will read Orbital, a Booker Prize-winning novel by Samantha Harvey that takes us on a routine mission to the International Space Station. It was published in Catalan by Ediciós 62, translated by Ernest Riera.
I'll be back to one of the traditions of each summer: spending a Sunday afternoon with The Goonies, an 80s classic directed by Richard Donner that makes you feel like a kid again, even if it's just for a couple of hours.
I will search A good place to enjoy the recital by Soleá Morente and Niño de Elche at the Consolació sanctuary in Sant Joan. It will be a double concert scheduled as part of La Luna en Verso, a summer music series organized by the Mallorca Literary Foundation, where the two performers will present their latest works: in Morente's case, the album With the knuckles, while Niño de Elche will play the songs of Gypsy style singingSaturday, August 9, at 9 p.m.
The week begins with JA Mendiola
Furgaré through Filmin, where you can see the films that were screened last week at different venues in Ciutat de Barcelona as part of the Atlántida Film Fest. There are 84 feature films, so the chances of enjoying them all are not easy, but, just in case, I won't miss it. The score, by Matthias Glasner, a story halfway between Tar and Fanny and Alexander, no more, no less. Digging deeper, I find A winter in Sokcho, by Koya Kamura: the relationship between a boarding housekeeper in a small coastal town and a graphic novelist who arrives looking for inspiration… There are many more.
I will go to the Juan March Auditorium in Ciudad to see and hear Serbian pianist Bogdan Dugalic perform the Fantasy in C major, by Franz Schubert, the Sonata No. 2, by Chopin and the Sonata No. 2, by Sergei Rachmaninoff. Friday, August 8, at 8 p.m.
I will buy and I will read Cone life fear behind, a literary testament by Antoine Compagnon, the book he wrote to answer the question of how one completes a life devoted to literature.
I will recommend Go to Sa Pobla, in Can Cirera Prim Park, where the third concert of this new edition of the Jazz Festival will take place, now in its 31st year. You can hear Seville-based pianist Daahoud Salim, accompanied by his quintet, performing his own compositions and those of his father, the composer and saxophonist Abdu Salim. Tuesday, August 5, at 10 p.m.
I will enjoy of the opening concert of the 64th Pollença Festival, by Dutch violinist Janine Jansen, accompanied by the Camerata Salzburg, conducted by concertmaster Gregory Ahss. We will be able to enjoy the Violin Concerto in E minor, Op. 64, by Felix Mendelssohn. One of the greatest violin concertos ever written, and one of the most performed, but only within the reach of the most virtuosos of the instrument. In the second part, more Mendelssohn: Symphony No. 4 in A major, Italian, Op. 90, as a tribute to the country that had so impressed him on the ten-month journey that took him from Venice to Rome, via Bologna and Florence, then to Naples and back via Milan. Saturday, August 9, at 10 p.m.
