Eight titles to enjoy from Comic Nostrum

The selection includes new releases, classics, and reissues.

PalmThe protagonists of this year's Comic Nostrum are, once again, numerous. And, for the vast majority, the published work is either very extensive, very diverse, or both. This is a heterogeneous selection, including works already considered classics of the genre, as well as some of the most recent releases from their authors—reads that can accompany the various activities included in this year's program.

'Fear'

Antonio Trashorras, David Muñoz, Javier Rodríguez

Astiberri Ediciones

Javier Rodríguez, from Asturias, will arrive in Mallorca with an award under his arm: he has just received the prestigious Eisner Award for illustrating the limited series 'Zatanna: Down the Hall' by Mariko Tamaki. In 2025, one of his key works, Fear, featuring two young people surrounded by violence in early 1980s Spain, was also reissued.

"The first roundabout in Spain was built in Mallorca, always a pioneer in unscrupulous urban planning," Pere Joan told ARA when presenting Neocaos, where an improbable world unfolds, which also turns out to be a lucid reflection of the reality that surrounds us. Pere Joan's work will be part of the exhibition Drawn Footprints, which can be seen at the Museu del Calçat.

'The Damned'

Flavia Gargiulo

Dolmen Books

A workshop, a performance, and several exhibitions will fill Flavia Gargiulo's schedule at Cómic Nostrum. Among the exhibitions, Vinyetes con mucho drama (Vinyetes with a lot of drama) stands out. It will be on display at the Teatro Principal in Inca and will bring together several examples of comic book adaptations of plays, including Les maleïdes, based on the play of the same name by Sergi Baos.

A must-see, the cartoonist Max will also be present at the festival with the screening of the documentary Dibuixant Max, which will take place on Wednesday the 26th, along with that of Àlbum Pere Joan.
