PalmaThere were still a few hours left before the Council proclaimed him Favorite Son of Mallorca, but Rels B preferred to start the celebration without waiting for the diploma. In front of more than 30,000 people gathered between the Parc de la Mar and the Passeig Marítim and with the Cathedral illuminated in the background, Daniel Heredia wanted to celebrate the distinction in his own way: with a free concert, on the eve of the Diada, so that anyone could share the recognition with him.

Rels B has returned to perform in Palma after having filled Son Moix in June 2025 and having culminated this summer at the Metropolitano in Madrid the most important tour of his career. If the first was the homecoming concert and the second, the confirmation that he is already playing in the stadium league, this Friday's was a party of gratitude.

Daniel Heredia has presented a show that has grown at the same pace as the venues where he performs, even though he continues to sing with the appearance of someone who does not need to make much noise to grab attention. This lack of affectation is an important part of his charm. He is not a singer of great vocal displays nor a rapper who needs to spit out every verse as if there were a battle pending. The songs enter smoothly, the beats do the work, and he strolls his voice between rap, urban pop, reggae, afrobeat, and an always sensual R&B.

The concert started from his present, marked by love love FLAKK, without renouncing the rest of the musical lives of the musician known as Skinny Flakk. In more than ten years of career, he has accumulated enough repertoire to go from 'Cómo dormiste?' to 'Tu vas sin (fav)', from 'Tienes el don' to 'A mí' and 'La vida sin ti' without any change in rhythm making him leave his universe. They are mostly short pieces, of two or three minutes –the times of TikTok–, which end before the audience has time to get distracted.

From stonemason to filling stadiums

Rels B's story continues to be that of a young man from Son Gotleu who started out producing songs and ended up singing them. Before that, he worked as a stonemason and a waiter. Later, he uploaded his music to the Internet and built a career without waiting for the blessing of a multinational, radio formats, or conventional media. When they finally began to pay attention, he had already accumulated millions of streams and was filling venues in Latin America.

The first time he performed at the Mallorca Live Festival, in 2018, he did so on a secondary stage. Six years later, he was already headlining, wearing a Real Mallorca shirt in front of a crowd that sang his songs. In 2025, he took another step forward and gathered about 20,000 people at Son Moix, with all tickets sold out, in his first concert at a stadium in Spain. Last July, he closed the A New Star World Tour at the Metropolitano in front of about 60,000 people. The progression could be explained just by listing the stages.

The records also allow you to follow it. In La isla he turned Mallorca into a title and emotional landscape; with A new star (1 9 9 3) he looked back at his beginnings from the position of someone who had already triumphed, and in love love FLAKK he has continued to expand a music that needs fewer and fewer borders. Between one work and another, songs like 'Buenos genes', 'Love It', 'Como antes', 'AfroLOVA' and 'Lo que hay x aquí' have been building a repertoire without a single track forced to sustain his entire career.

This is another one of Rels B's successes: he does not depend on that one big hit that the audience waits for for an hour and that condemns everything else to act as filler. He has a songbook. The first notes are enough for thousands of people to recognize the track while he manages his voice, walks around the stage and contemplates the result of what he started almost all alone in front of a computer.

He triumphed without needing Mallorca

Mallorca is not only the birthplace that appears in Rels B's biography. It is a constant presence in the narrative he has built about himself. It gives a title to an album, weaves in and out of his lyrics, and occupies a central place in his concerts. Un verano en Mallorca has ended up becoming a kind of sentimental anthem for his followers, a song destined to acquire a special meaning every time it plays on the island.

This time he did it in front of the most official image of Palma and at a concert organized to celebrate that Mallorca is adding the musician to its honors. The distance between the international star and the boy from Son Gotleu has been reduced to the few kilometers that separate his neighborhood from the Cathedral.

The paradox is that the institution is now honoring an artist who triumphed without needing it. Rels B grew first on mobile screens, then in concert halls, later in stadiums, and finally in front of the Cathedral. The Council will bestow the official title there this Saturday.

Before that, there was music. Rels B has turned the Parc de la Mar into the party with which he wanted to express his gratitude for the distinction, and he has brought the songs he took from Son Gotleu to the world back home. The diploma will arrive during the Diada. The celebration was already done.
