The new Alcudia CIFP (Centre for Vocational Training) will have 714 places and 17 training courses "adapted to the needs of the labor market."

The vocational training center project has a budget of 12.5 million euros, part of which is financed by the eco-tax.

PalmThe new Integrated Vocational Training Center (CIFP) in Alcudia will offer 15 training courses divided into three professional areas: Administration and Management, Hospitality and Tourism, and Food Industries. It will have 714 places and will provide students with practical training tailored to the needs of the labor market. The center will offer:

  • Basic Degrees (CFGB): Administrative Services, Cooking and Catering, Accommodation and Laundry, and Baking and Pastry Activities.
  • Intermediate degrees (CFGM): Administrative management, Cooking and gastronomy, Restaurant services, Bakery, pastry and confectionery.
  • Advanced degrees (CFGS): Administration and finance, Management assistance, Tourist accommodation management, Kitchen management, Restaurant services management.
  • Specialization degrees: Artisan bakery and pastry making, Coordination of staff at professional meetings, conferences, fairs, exhibitions, and events.

The Regional Minister of Education and Universities, Antoni Vera, presented the preliminary project for the new Integrated Vocational Training Center. He was accompanied by the Director General of Vocational Training and Educational Planning, Maria Isabel Salas, and the manager of the Balearic Institute of Infrastructure and Educational Services, Marco Alarcón. The event was also attended by the Alcudia Hotel Association and members of the management teams of the municipality's secondary schools.

This new educational center will represent "a decisive commitment by the Government of the Balearic Islands to promote and consolidate vocational training studies on the island of Mallorca, especially in the northern sector, where demand for these studies has grown significantly in recent years," the Ministry of Education stated in a statement.

Three floors and green areas

The center will be located on a 4,479 m² plot donated by the Alcudia City Council, on the perimeter of the town center, specifically at the exit towards Port of Alcudia. The center will house the lobby and administrative areas, while the upper floors will house the classrooms. The building will open up to the public space through a porch that will connect with the green area in the front plot, "favoring integration with the surroundings." The project has a budget of €12.5 million and "represents a strategic investment for the future of Vocational Training in the Balearic Islands." Part of the project is funded through the Sustainable Tourism Tax.
