Man arrested in Palma for trying to check into a hotel after leaving a €19,000 debt at another
An English man left without paying after a month's stay at a hotel in Calvià and was intercepted when he wanted to stay at another establishment of the same chain
PalmThe National Police have arrested a man in Palma who was trying to check into a hotel in the city center after leaving a €19,000 debt at another hotel in the same chain in Calvià, where he had stayed for a month and left without paying. The incident occurred last Wednesday when a call to 091 alerted police to a hotel in central Palma. According to the Balearic Islands Police Headquarters, the British national was attempting to check into the hotel. check-in as a guest when hotel staff detected that he was the suspected perpetrator of fraud at another establishment.
When the patrol arrived, the hotel manager explained that, while trying to register the guest, they received an alert that he had stayed for more than a month at a hotel of the same chain in Calvià and had left the establishment the previous day without paying his bill.
The officers located the man in the hotel lobby, identified him by the staff, and arrested him as the suspected perpetrator of a fraud.
