Son GotleuAbout forty people linked to migrant organizations and social economy projects have participated in Son Gotleu in a day that ended with the presentation of the Son Gotleu Declaration, a document that sets five commitments to increase the participation of migrant people within the social and solidarity economy of the Balearic Islands.
The meeting, held at the Mater Centre under the title "Weaving networks: migrant, inclusive and diverse social economy", was organized by Mercat Social and the Intercoopera Foundation. During the morning, there were conversations, presentations of experiences, and workshops focused on cooperativism, labor regularization, entrepreneurship, and anti-racism.
The declaration bets on transforming social economy organizations from within, incorporating diversity in areas such as hiring, representation, leadership, or decision-making. It also proposes fostering migrant role models, consolidating stable coordination spaces, and strengthening collaboration with administrations, educational centers, and associations.
One of the most concrete commitments is the launch, at the beginning of 2027, of MentoriESS, a group of volunteers with experience in the social economy that will offer accompaniment to migrant people interested in promoting collective projects.
