PalmThe general policy debate served to highlight that Prime Minister Marga Prohens cannot count Vox, which has accused her of "stealing" her anti-immigration rhetoric, among her allies. However, the Catalan government will present a new spending ceiling and will try to push it through.

As announced by the president, the Governing Council will approve it in the coming weeks. The budget will be €6.92 billion, €360 million more than the previous budget. "To continue improving healthcare, education, public transport, and housing for the people here," she stated. In his speech, the PP spokesperson in the Parliament, Sebastià Sagreras, conveyed to his Vox counterpart, Manuela Cañadas, his intention to "continue collaborating as always," but demanded that they "not condition future measures on their obsessions," referring to the Catalan language in schools. "We abide by the agreements," he defended after Cañadas reproached them that their word "is worthless."

Sagreras criticized Cañadas for making the approval of the acceleration decree, which, he said, they had already agreed upon, conditional on the PP accepting the processing of an amendment to Vox's law to expand the use of Spanish in schools. Although the PP agreed to include Spanish as a vehicular language in the Education Law, it considered that Vox's proposals conflicted with the Minimum Decree and the Language Normalization Law.

The Palma metro will be extended to Son Espases

Furthermore, the president also announced that the regional government will begin the process of extending the Palma metro to Son Espases Hospital, a project in which Palma City Council is also involved. The extension is part of the Balearic Islands Sectoral Mobility Master Plan, which is currently under review.
