This is the new website to check if an island beach is saturated

PalmaThe Government has finally launched the application and website to consult in real-time the occupancy of the Islands' beaches and predict their influx to improve the saturation of the coastline. Although the platform is in a testing phase and its functionalities are to be expanded in the coming months, there are already 150 beaches with sensors and the Executive has made it available to users. President Marga Prohens' commitment was to launch it this summer. However, since it has not started until the end of July, the data from the first half of the season will no longer be collected.

The day after ARA Balears made it public that the monitoring was still pending, the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Innovation has issued a statement informing of the launch of the Digital Twin of Tourism and, within this framework, this tool, although it is still "in a testing phase and progressive improvement and expansion". It integrates information from various sources to offer data to residents, tourists, and public administrations. The web platform (available by clicking on the link) allows you to check the occupancy status of beaches based on information from lifeguards, historical data, and environmental and meteorological conditions.

Thus, it is possible to know the situation of the beaches before traveling and decide which area to visit, favoring a more balanced distribution of users throughout the territory. The tool facilitates the planning of public services and contributes to improving mobility, safety, coastal conservation, and tourism resource management. In addition, when a beach has high occupancy or is expected to have high occupancy, the platform offers recommendations for alternative beaches that may suit the visitor's preferences.
