PalmVox's secretary general, Ignacio Garriga, stated this Wednesday that he would vote with Junts in favor of a motion of no confidence against Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez. In statements to Palma, he called on "not only Junts but also the PNV" to vote for a motion of no confidence. "Today, Sánchez is the greatest enemy of the prosperity of the Spanish people, the greatest enemy of the Spanish people, and therefore, all of us who aspire to defend the interests of the Spanish people have a common enemy, which is Sánchez," he stated.

Garriga recalled that Vox has already presented two unsuccessful motions of no confidence, and would file a third if it could. However, he then lamented that Vox is alone in its clash with Sánchez. "Junto sits down to negotiate with Sánchez, the PP sits down to negotiate with Sánchez, Podemos sits down to negotiate with Sánchez, the PNV sits down to negotiate with Sánchez: the only real opposition today is Vox," he insisted. "What's useless is criticizing Sánchez and then agreeing to the renewal of the Constitutional Court (TC), the General Council of the Judiciary (CGPJ), and the mass regularization of illegal migrants, as the PP has done," he concluded.

Specifically, the People's Party (PP) is also pushing Junts for a vote of no confidence. The mayor of Badalona, Xavier García Albiol, stated in an interview with RTVE that reaching an agreement with Junts over a vote of no confidence against Pedro Sánchez and precipitating state elections "should not be ruled out." "We may be able to reach an agreement," he emphasized. He even emphasized that although the PP does not agree with the Junts members "on a government program" or on the "national" issue, they do agree on "economic issues."

Last January, Junts ruled out supporting any motion of no confidence promoted by the PP and Vox. However, it did propose that Sánchez submit to a vote of no confidence in Congress. However, the party has warned on several occasions that it does not rule out withdrawing support for the Spanish government if the agreements between the two parties are not met. Last week, Junts defeated the reform to reduce the working day in Congress.

From eight to five deputies due to internal crises

Garriga made these statements flanked by the party's leadership in the Balearic Islands. After several internal crises, the party has lost three members of Parliament, who have moved to the non-affiliated group. The party leader addressed this issue. "I apologize to all those who trusted Vox in the regional elections and have had to witness some regrettable incidents involving some of those who went by the Vox name," he said. "We will not allow those who disguised themselves as Vox but came to implement the policies of the PP or the left to have a place."
