Govern after govern, councilor after councilor, plan after plan, day after day, and presentation after presentation. Good words, intentions, and, for some time now, a certain self-criticism have succeeded one another. “We are at the limit.” Now, even the PP admits that the Islands are on the verge of collapse.

It is not possible to stroll calmly, because everything is full of tourists; the squares and streets of the center are full of terraces and, of course, the beaches, the rocky coves and any corner host a crowd that prevents a minimum enjoyment of the moment. This is not to mention public transport, where you can stand for an hour, and buses that pass by and do not stop. And the eternal car journeys, because we live stuck in traffic.

It is very tiresome to have to talk about this all day. But the fact is that this is what happens to most citizens. Not so long ago, life in the Islands was certainly good. Now, at times and in certain circles, it becomes exhausting. For this reason, Marga Prohens did not have many options when the people began to show their frustration due to saturation. The evidence could not be denied, and she did not deny it.

But what no ruler, regardless of their political color, will be able to tolerate much longer is to continue messing around with diagnoses, meetings, and future possibilities. Brave actions are needed. And whether you like it or not, there is one that is basic: reviewing urban development capacity. The rest, even blaming Aena now (of course, enthusiastic about bringing as many people as possible), contributes nothing. People come to the Islands because there is space for them. They find houses, chalets, apartments, and hotels. And today, the only industry we have besides tourism is to crush the territory by building more chalets. And to stop it, we do not need the State.
