The Night of Art of Palma celebrates 30 years with a hundred artists
The appointment, scheduled for September 19, will gather 16 Art Palma Contemporani galleries and will also extend to cultural spaces in Mallorca and Menorca
PalmaThe Nit de l'Art will celebrate its 30th edition this year with a hundred artists and fifty exhibitions spread mainly throughout Palma, but also through other municipalities of Mallorca, such as Andratx and Pollença and Menorca. The artistic event will take place next September 19th, between 6 pm and 11 pm and will once again turn the Balearic capital into a showcase for contemporary art.
The new edition was presented this Tuesday by the president of the Art Palma Contemporani gallery association, Fran Reus, who highlighted the 30-year trajectory of an initiative that has consolidated itself as one of the main artistic events in the Islands.
In this edition, 16 private art establishments associated with Art Palma Contemporani are participating, with the collaboration of different institutions, among which are the Palma City Council and the Government of the Balearic Islands. The Councilor for Culture of Cort, Javier Bonet, explained that this edition will bring together fifty exhibitions with works by a hundred artists. Among the participants there will be both established creators and emerging profiles, with the aim of giving visibility to different generations and trends of contemporary art.
A circuit beyond the galleries
The Nit de l'Art will not be limited this year to the 16 associated private spaces. The programming will be completed with exhibitions and activities in various cultural facilities in the Balearic Islands. Among these spaces are the Casal Solleric, CaixaForum Palma, Es Baluard Museum of Contemporary Art of Palma, the Juan March Foundation, the Pollença Museum, and the Miró Mallorca Foundation, among others.
The proposal will thus allow for the expansion of the artistic circuit beyond the galleries in the center of Palma and incorporate institutions and cultural projects from different municipalities of the Archipelago. With three decades of history, the Nit de l'Art arrives this year at an especially symbolic edition, with a program that combines emerging artists and established creators, private galleries, and cultural institutions, and which maintains Palma as the main epicenter of the event.
