Miquel Oliver announces the candidacy to lead MÉS on the Consell de Mallorca

The mayor of Manacor makes the leap to supramunicipal politics teaming up with Marta Català

PalmaThe mayor of Manacor, Miquel Oliver, confirmed this Thursday his candidacy to lead MÉS per Mallorca in the Council. As reported by ARA Balears, the eco-sovereigntist is making the leap to supramunicipal politics after three terms at the head of the City Council, the last one improving electoral results in a context of general decline of the left in the Islands. In a Facebook post, Oliver explained that he will team up with Marta Català, the party's Secretary of Finance.

The formation has given the go-ahead to the primaries, and in the first fortnight of June the heads of list will be formally proclaimed for the next elections. Last Wednesday, Catalan professor David Pujol and the party's coordinator in Palma, Xisca Mir, put themselves forward to lead the MÉS per Palma candidacy. Regarding the Parliament, the forecast is that the current leader of the party and of the parliamentary group, Lluís Apesteguia, will repeat as a candidate, teaming up with the parliamentarian Maria Ramon.
