PalmMÁS por Marratxí condemned this Saturday the decision of the municipal government team, led by the mayor, Jaume Llompart (PP), to stop organizing the Rata Market at the Museu del Fang, considering that it represents "a step backwards for local culture."

The party recalled in a statement that for six editions the market turned the Molí del Fang into "a space full of life" with music, crafts, literature and local artists, attracting creators from all over the Iberian Peninsula and internationally renowned writers.

The eco-sovereignty spokesperson in the municipality, Aina Amengual, has described the City Council's decision as "incomprehensible" and accused the PP of an "absolute lack of cultural sensitivity and vision for the future."

The party has pointed out that the Rata Market has generated thousands of visitors per year, a direct economic impact on artisans and merchants, and has consolidated Marratxí as a cultural landmark.

Therefore, MÁS has demanded that the local government reconsider the decision and listen to creators, professionals, and citizens.
