"What would happen if immigrants in the Balearic Islands went on strike?": the question Marga Prohens was asked.
The PSOE in Congress has accused the Prime Minister of being "the new voice" against immigration.

PalmThe PSOE (Spanish Socialist Workers' Party) in Congress has accused the Prime Minister, Marga Prohens, of being "the new voice" against immigration, and has also asked her what she would do "if the immigrant population of the Balearic Islands went on strike, what would happen in Mallorca, Ibiza and Formentera?"
The Permanent Commission of Congress has rejected the PP's request for the Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, Elma Saiz, to appear urgently before the plenary session of Congress to report on the "migration emergency" in the south and the Balearic Islands, as well as the measures adopted to pursue the mafias.
During his speech, Socialist MP Luc André Diouf said that Prohens does not want immigrants in the Balearic Islands and, addressing the PP, he asked: "If the immigrant population of the Balearic Islands went on strike, what would happen in Mallorca, Ibiza and Formentera?"
He also criticized Prohens for requesting a precautionary suspension of the distribution of minors in the Supreme Court and, in this regard, said: "Do you want me to remind you how the reception of Ukrainian minors was?"
These days, Prohens has emphasized that the Balearic Islands do not have the capacity to accommodate more minors and has warned that the so-called "Algerian route" to the Balearic Islands is the fastest growing in all of Europe: if in 2018 some 2,000 irregular migrants arrived in the islands, so far in 2025 that number has already exceeded that number.
"Migration crisis"
From the PP, Sofía Acedo has accused the Executive of "inaction" and "irresponsibility" in the face of "a migration crisis" that has become "structural," since "the Government accepts the consolidation of the Atlantic and Mediterranean routes as normal," which generates "disorder" and "consequences."
Vox was harsher, asserting that "what is happening in the Balearic Islands is another chapter in the illegal migrant invasion," which represents "a danger to security, coexistence, and state identity."
"Racist terrorism"
Nothing to do with the speeches of Podemos and Sumar, who have warned of "racist terrorism" with the examples of Torre Pacheco (Murcia) or of people chasing immigrants arriving by boat to the beaches this summer.
The leader of the purple party, Ione Belarra, has said that "there are too many racists, not migrants," and Sumar deputy Enrique Santiago has accused the PP of "being an accomplice" in this "racist terrorism," whether by denying the problem or adding fuel to it.
