Aemet warns: the Balearic Islands prepare for a new episode of storms starting Wednesday
Aemet activates the orange warning and foresees the most complicated period between Thursday dawn and Friday evening
PalmaThe Balearic Islands are on alert again due to storms and downpours. Aemet forecasts a particularly complicated episode of instability starting from Thursday and has already activated warnings for rain and storms for this Wednesday, with a maximum orange level.
The precipitation could leave more than 50 liters per square meter in one hour, while the storms could be accompanied by wind gusts exceeding 90 km/h.
According to Aemet, showers may already occur locally this Wednesday, but the most complicated period will begin during the early hours of Thursday and will last until Friday evening. For Thursday, the agency also maintains the orange warning for storms, heavy rain, and coastal phenomena.
