PalmThe platform "Mallorca for Living, Not for Speculation" held a banner workshop in Son Sardina and Secar de la Real to hang on facades and other locations in the neighborhood to express rejection of Palma's Land Acquisition Law. The banners, placed this Thursday by neighborhood residents, read "PP and Vox, speculators. Whoever loves Son Sardina doesn't destroy it," "More Secar - cement," "Land is not for sale," and others.

The organization has criticized the PP and Vox for maintaining "total opacity" regarding when the implementation of the regulations will be approved in the Palma City Council plenary session. They have therefore stated that they will be "prepared for any scenario" and have called for "increasing opposition to this urban bombshell," according to the platform in a statement.

Thus, they emphasized that this law "affects" the entire city, especially the neighborhoods and towns with more rural surroundings, but also other municipalities in Mallorca. This week, in addition to a signature collection that they expect to be "massive," they organized these banner workshops, which were also attended by people from other neighborhoods.

"The result is that the streets and facades are already beginning to shout what the vast majority thinks, which is that the land should not be sold, and that those who love the island and its environment should not put it in the hands of speculators or real estate developers," they claim. Thus, they emphasized that among those who put Palma in this situation are "local politicians who maintain a shameful silence and are complicit with the law," despite "holding positions of great responsibility in the city and in high institutions on the island."

The platform has encouraged people to sign the manifesto and decorate the facades of their houses with messages against the speculation and destruction of the land promoted by the PP and Vox, and also against the Land Acquisition Law, which "not only fails to provide real solutions to the housing problem, but will also cause irreparable damage to the environment and surrounding areas."
