Ben Amics alerts that Pride 2026 is at risk due to lack of response from the Court
The entity has requested permission in three cases without obtaining a response in any of the attempts
PalmThe Ben Amics association has warned that the celebration of Pride 2026 in Palma is in danger due to the City Council's lack of response to the request for public space occupation for the demonstration and party planned for June 28.
The entity has reported that the required documentation was submitted on January 27, with more advance notice than in previous years, precisely because of the coordination difficulties detected in previous editions. The organization has regretted that to date, they have not received any response from the Social Services, Equality, and Citizen Participation area of Palma.
Likewise, Ben Amics reiterated the request on March 9 and made a third attempt to contact on the 30th of the same month, without receiving a response at any time. Now that there are less than three months until the event date, the organization is unaware of the status of the procedures and has not been able to hold the necessary technical meeting to guarantee the correct development of the event.
From the entity, they have recalled that Pride is not only a festive celebration, but also a space for visibility, claim, and defense of the rights of the LGTBI+ community, and they have warned that this situation evidences a total lack of interest from politicians in this area of the City Council. However, given the lack of institutional response, Ben Amics is considering the possibility of canceling the events.
