PalmThe Civil Guard has opened an investigation to clarify the circumstances surrounding the death of a man whose body was found Tuesday morning in an advanced state of decomposition in Cala Agulla, in the municipality of Capdepera.

As confirmed by Europa Press Sources close to the investigation say that emergency services received a report of the encounter around 9 a.m., information that has been reported by Daily of MallorcaA patrol from the Civil Guard in Artà was dispatched to the scene, where they verified the facts and informed the Judicial Police unit and the duty judge. Initial indications suggest the deceased is a man who could not be identified due to the condition of the body. The judicial team removed the body around 10:00 AM and transported it to the Institute of Legal Medicine, where an autopsy will be performed to determine both the identity and the cause of death. One of the main hypotheses investigators are working with is that the victim may have been a migrant who died while attempting to reach the Balearic Islands aboard a makeshift vessel. If this hypothesis is confirmed, it would be the first migrant body found on the archipelago's shores this year. In 2025, according to a report last December by the Spanish government delegate in the Balearic Islands, Alfonso Rodríguez, at least 63 migrant deaths were recorded.
