PalmMallorca is much more than a tourist destination: it is a living land, with a population that has preserved a natural, cultural, and historical heritage of which it can be proud. With the primary objective of ensuring that tourism on the island contributes to respecting and protecting all these natural, tangible, and intangible assets, and through what can be understood as a social commitment to collective responsibility, the Consell de Mallorca is driving a transformation to build a more conscious tourism model, a transformation designed for both residents and visitors.

This is how Ca Nostra, the new identity of the Responsible Tourism Foundation of Mallorca, was born. The change of name and statutes is much more than a symbolic gesture. In fact, it is a plan to put residents at the heart of the tourism model and to foster a real balance between the dynamics of tourism and local life. This involves rethinking how visitors interact with the island, its people, its culture, and its natural environment. Therefore, every action in this new initiative is aimed at reinforcing this objective: awareness campaigns, professional training, and intelligent data management to anticipate needs without negatively impacting local life.

With this name, Ca Nostra, the Consell emphasizes that caring for Mallorca is everyone's responsibility: residents, visitors, businesses operating on the island, and institutions. It's not just a name change: it's a commitment that connects tourism with the real life of the island and with the preservation of its heritage.

Technology and culture

To make this transformation effective, data management becomes a key tool: with up-to-date data, tourist flows can be better understood, distributed more equitably, and the most vulnerable areas protected. And all of this must be done in a timely manner, with faster and, above all, more appropriate responses to the goal: ensuring that everyone shares the purpose of respecting and caring for the island.

At the same time, through Ca Nostra, initiatives are promoted that highlight local culture and native products, encouraging tourists not only to get to know Mallorca, but also to feel a sense of belonging in a respectful way. Therefore, the aim is to provide intelligent tools that guide visitors and help them discover the island without negatively impacting the environment.

Pledge, the commitment to responsible tourism

A community that builds the future

The new model being promoted by the Consell de Mallorca is being built in collaboration with businesses, organizations, and citizens, creating a space where all voices matter. In fact, the Advisory Council, defined in the new statutes, includes representatives from SMEs, the technology sector, local products, and accessibility, ensuring that the decisions made are inclusive and reflect the island's socioeconomic reality. This is why Ca Nostra is promoting the Pledge, a recognition of this collective commitment. Signing the Pledge represents assuming a responsibility that everyone knows belongs to them. The message is clear: tourism can be an economic engine, but it must be responsible, sustainable, and shared. Therefore, Ca Nostra acts as a guide and facilitator, promoting initiatives that connect residents and visitors, transforming each visit to the island into a new opportunity to love and care for Mallorca.

With every letter of the island's name, MALLORCA, peaceful coexistence, heritage protection, and also recycling, reuse, and reduction of everything that negatively impacts the island's privileged environment are promoted.

Furthermore, the UN Tourism QUEST certification has been renewed, an international endorsement that recognizes the quality of the destination's management and the functioning of its governance system. Far from being a mere formality, this recognition acts as an external certification that confirms Mallorca is moving towards a more balanced development model, with a focus on collective well-being.

A new paradigm

With this transformation, the Foundation abandons the strategy of mere tourism promotion and adopts a discourse of awareness and responsibility, essential at this time, when all economic activities must contribute to the model of sustainability and coexistence that, ultimately, represents the true added value required by a 21st-century society. In this sense, each project seeks to balance tourism growth with the preservation of natural and cultural heritage, fostering harmonious coexistence and a shared pride in the island.

Mallorca is not just visited: it is loved, cared for, and lived. That is why Ca Nostra works to ensure that this island is a real and tangible experience for everyone, residents and visitors alike, all within a conscious, sustainable, and shared tourism model.
