Five injured, one seriously, in a multi-vehicle accident in Costitx

PalmA total of five people were injured, one seriously, in a traffic accident on Monday on the Ma-3011 highway, which connects Sineu with Palma, near the municipality of Costitx. The incident occurred around 6:00 p.m. at kilometer 26 of this road when a car and a van collided at high speed from behind, according to reports from SAMU 061 (the emergency medical service) and the Civil Guard. After the initial impact, the van reportedly crossed into the oncoming lane, causing a second collision with two other cars. Emergency medical services and firefighters from Mallorca were dispatched to the scene to attend to the victims. Among them were two children, ages 6 and 8, who were taken to Son Espases Hospital with minor injuries.

The seriously injured victim, a 58-year-old woman, and the children's father, a 48-year-old man with minor injuries, were evacuated to the same hospital. Another man, 47 years old and with minor injuries, was taken to Inca Hospital. Five SAMU (Emergency Medical Service) vehicles participated in the operation, and the Civil Guard was in charge of regulating traffic, as the road was closed from 6:20 p.m. to 7:20 p.m.
