PalmDoctors and medical professionals are called this Monday to a new week of strike, from May 18 to 22, the fourth since the beginning of the year, to reject the framework statute proposed by the Ministry of Health and to demand their own text.

The stoppages, according to the Balearic Medical Union (Simebal-CESM), are maintained in the face of the "null response" from the Ministry, nor from the central government to negotiate with the strike committee.

"We find ourselves obliged to continue with the demands put forward by the committee, focused on the claim for our own statute that recognizes the singularity of the medical profession and its training, and that defends and protects its working conditions," they indicated in a statement.

The union has called for a rally this Thursday (11 a.m.) at the Can Misses Hospital in Ibiza, as well as a protest in Palma (6:30 p.m.) in the Plaza de la Reina.

Likewise, during all the days of the strike, rallies will be held at 8:30 a.m. in the different hospitals of the Balearic Islands, in support of the doctors and medical professionals who are covering the minimum services.
