PalmThe Son Reus Municipal Animal Protection Center, part of the Palma City Council's Animal Welfare Department, has delivered a pony to the Mounted Police Unit of the Local Police. The animal, rescued from the streets weeks ago, will now participate in educational activities, parades, and other public events. Pancho, as the pony is called, is four years old and was found wandering the streets in a vulnerable state, showing clear signs of stress and disorientation. Since his rescue, he has been at the Son Reus center, where veterinarians and caretakers have provided him with constant attention. From now on, he will live with the other horses of the Mounted Police, based in the Bellver Forest. The professionals discovered that Pancho did not have a microchip, which prevented them from identifying him and locating his owner. Given this situation, the center initiated all the necessary procedures and implemented a care protocol to ensure his physical and emotional recovery.

Very sociable

Over the past few weeks, Pancho's health has improved, and he has shown a remarkable ability to socialize with people. The Mounted Police intend for him to participate in educational activities with children and teenagers, as well as in institutional events such as parades, in the future. The donation ceremony took place this Tuesday in Son Reus, with the participation of the Councilor for the Environment and Healthy Environments, Llorenç Bauzá, and the Councilor for Citizen Security and Civic Responsibility, Miquel Busquets, along with members of the Mounted Police and staff from the animal rehabilitation center.
