PalmA 57-year-old woman was investigated by the Civil Guard after allegedly stealing an acorn-fed Iberian ham worth 420 euros from a supermarket in Sineu. The incident, which was recorded by security cameras and can be seen in the video accompanying this news story, has generated surprise both for the method used and the outcome of the case.

The theft took place on January 20th, during peak customer traffic at the store. According to the Civil Guard, the woman took advantage of the commotion to hide the ham under a jacket and leave the supermarket without paying. The owner reported the incident, and officers, after reviewing the security camera footage, quickly identified the suspected perpetrator. The suspect is known to the police for her involvement in similar incidents. She eventually handed over the stolen ham, although it was no longer whole: only about half remained. The case was turned over to the judicial authorities.
