Forest fire extinguished in Son Catlar, Campos

PalmaThe Mallorca Firefighters and the Balearic Institute of Nature (Ibanat) extinguished a forest fire declared this Saturday in the Son Catlar area, in the municipality of Campos.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Natural Environment, the fire started shortly after midday and required the intervention of two aerial resources, a fire engine, 15 forest firefighters, and three environmental agents.

The Mallorca Firefighters also mobilized the Milana helicopter and personnel from the Llucmajor, Felanitx, and Manacor stations to support the extinction efforts.

The fire was declared extinguished at 3:00 p.m. So far, the causes that originated it or the area affected by the flames have not been revealed.
