Forest fire extinguished in Son Catlar, in Campos

PalmaThe Bombers de Mallorca and the Balearic Institute of Nature (Ibanat) extinguished this Saturday a forest fire declared in the Son Catlar area, in the municipality of Campos.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Natural Environment, the fire originated shortly after midday and required the intervention of two air assets, a fire engine, 15 forest firefighters and three environmental agents.

The Bombers de Mallorca also mobilized the Milana helicopter and personnel from the Llucmajor, Felanitx and Manacor fire stations to support the extinction efforts.

The fire was declared extinguished at 3:00 p.m. At the moment, the causes that originated it or the area affected by the flames have not been disclosed.
