Two air tankers and fifteen forest firefighters are working to control the fire there
PalmaPersonnel from the Balearic Institute of Nature (Ibanat) are working this Saturday on the extinction of a forest fire declared in the Son Catlar area, in the municipality of Campos.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Natural Environment, two aerial resources, a fire engine, 15 forest firefighters, and three environmental agents are involved in the tasks to control the fire.
Emergency teams continue to work in the area to prevent the spread of flames and stabilize the fire. For the moment, the causes of the fire or the affected area have not been disclosed.
The Ministry has also not reported on possible effects on nearby homes or infrastructure.
The fire has been declared in the middle of a high forest risk period, when high temperatures and dry vegetation increase the danger of fires spreading.
