PalmaThe Government has confirmed that a young woman from Mallorca is among those injured in the railway accident that occurred this Wednesday in Toledo, although they have clarified that she is reportedly out of danger. This was explained by the President of the Government, Marga Prohens, after the minute of silence that was organized at the doors of Palma City Hall, as a sign of mourning for those who died and were affected by this incident.
The Executive's representative has made herself available to the affected person's family. Likewise, she indicated that, since this morning, the Government has been in contact with the Junta de Castilla-La Mancha to offer them any emergency personnel that might be required, although she specified that in this case, it was not necessary to deploy them.
Prohens noted that the Government has joined this call promoted by the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces, to show solidarity with the victims of the accident and the relatives who are still waiting for news of their family members.
"We must lament another railway accident that leaves many victims, and this Wednesday is a time for solidarity, support, pain, and putting the victims and their families at the center," she highlighted.
Minute of silence
Representatives from various institutions, members of political parties, and Balearic society attended the minute of silence, along with a hundred people who accompanied the event at Plaça de Cort.
Among the personalities who attended were the President of the Parliament, Gabriel Le Senne, the Government Delegate in the Balearic Islands, Pere Joan Pons, the Mayor of Palma, Jaume Martínez, and the President of the Congress of Deputies, Francina Armengol.
Armengol herself remarked that this Wednesday is a day of "immense pain" for all Spaniards and conveyed all her support and encouragement to all the families of the victims, their loved ones, the injured, and the missing.
In addition, she thanked the work of all emergency corps from the different administrations, who have been working all day to try to save the maximum number of lives possible and attending to those hospitalized.
