PalmThe mayor of Palma, Jaime Martínez, pointed out that any potential price increases in the city's transition areas would be due to "pure speculation" and warned that investing in these plots of land "is an absolute risk."

In this way, the mayor responded after being questioned this Wednesday about the potential price increases for these properties, motivated by the approval of the Land Acquisition Law.

Martínez stated that building in these transition areas "is not a reality," but rather "a possibility" that has existed for 25 years. He also stated that the City Council "is not in this position." He stated that the City Council's position is "distant" from any type of speculation in the transition areas.

Martínez also warned of the "absolute risk" posed by "speculative movements" anywhere in Palma, and therefore recommends that everyone "not proceed in this direction."

What are transition areas?

Transition areas are specific areas of rural land that act as a connecting or buffer zone between urbanized areas and the countryside or rural areas.
