PalmThe Santa Eulària City Council has removed more than 100 tons of waste from the plot where the Can Rova 2 settlement stood until Tuesday. The municipality's Councilor for Citizen Security, Juan Carlos Roselló, explained that half of the garbage still needs to be removed, so they will need more days to properly dispose of the waste that was previously occupied.

Emptying septic tanks has also been considered after assessing the danger of leaving them in the area, as they could contaminate groundwater. In principle, they explained, the cleanup work will most likely end this Friday.

Nearly 80 residents of Can Rova 2 are seeking help from Social Services.

The Santa Eulària City Council has assisted 77 people living in the Can Rova 2 settlement through its Social Services, 11 of whom are minors. Roselló explained in a press conference that these people asked for help and received an initial assessment, resolving their housing problems and covering other needs.

The Santa Eulària City Councilor for Citizen Security noted that the service has been reinforced to assist the former occupants of Can Rova 2. "All the people who have come to the Social Welfare Department have received the necessary attention," the councilor replied, referring to families with minors who have had to sleep in the settlement.

Of the 77 people assisted, 28 are women (four of them pregnant), 36 are men, and 11 are minors. In addition, there is one person in need of medical care and another person over 65 years of age.

Regarding the situation of minors and mothers who have requested assistance from the City Council, the Nazaret shelter is currently housing four mothers with their children. Regarding the men, most have informed the Ibiza City Council that they have their own alternatives.

Although two families are considering returning to the Peninsula, they have not yet requested assistance. If they do, each case will be reviewed individually to determine whether or not assistance with return tickets is necessary.
