PalmaThe State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has activated an orange alert (significant danger) in the Balearic Islands this Friday due to heavy rain and storms in Ibiza and Formentera throughout the day.

The orange alert in the Pitiüses predicts accumulated rainfall in one hour of 40 mm and intense electrical activity.

For its part, the Serra de Tramuntana and the south of Mallorca are on yellow alert (low danger) due to rain and storms, with rainfall that can accumulate to 20 mm in one hour.

Menorca is the only one of the four islands where there is no active warning for adverse weather for this day.
