Orange alert in inland Mallorca and extreme fire risk

PalmaThe State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has activated this Wednesday the orange alert (important danger) for strong heat in the interior of Mallorca, with maximums that could reach 39°C. The heatwave that began on Monday continues in this way.

There is also a yellow alert (low danger) in the south, north, and northeast of Mallorca and in the Serra de Tramuntana, where thermometers could reach a maximum of 38°C.

The yellow alert also affects the Pitiüses Islands, as in both Ibiza and Formentera, maximums are expected to reach 36°C.

The Fire Danger Index predicted for this Wednesday is very high and extreme in certain areas of Mallorca and Menorca.

Regarding the weather in general, the sky will be little cloudy with some interval of medium and high clouds. There will be morning fog and dust in suspension. The wind will be light from the east and coastal breezes will occur.

With the orange warning, there is a significant meteorological risk, with a certain degree of danger for usual activities, and with the yellow one, there is no meteorological risk for the general population, although there is for some specific activity.
