Orange alert in Mallorca for temperatures up to 40 degrees and high fire risk

PalmaThe State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has declared Mallorca's interior on orange alert this Monday due to a maximum temperature of 40 degrees during the central hours of the day, the same alert level as in the northeast of the island, where maximums will be around 39 degrees. In the rest of the Archipelago, Aemet's alert is yellow level for heat, with temperatures averaging 36 degrees.
On the eve of the third heatwave, which is expected to begin on Tuesday at a national level, Aemet also explained that the Fire Risk Index forecast for today reaches very high values in Mallorca.
Regarding the weather in general, in the Balearic Islands light winds and coastal breezes are expected, some medium and high clouds, fog, and suspended dust.
In addition, there will be a predominance of little cloudy skies with intervals of medium and high clouds and morning fog, with the possibility of an isolated fog bank in Menorca.
