PalmThe mayor of Palma, Jaime Martínez Llabrés, visited Plaza Gomila and Avenida Joan Miró this Monday, two of the areas already renovated under the Plan Renove del Terreno (Land Renewal Plan), where the Palma City Council (Cort) has invested €1.09 million to date. The city expects this figure to exceed €3 million by 2026, with new projects planned. Martínez emphasized that the Terreno area has been "neglected for many years, with a long-overdue renewal plan." In the case of Plaza Gomila and Carrer Germans Schembri, the works had a budget of €155,711 and included repaving, installing planters, and burying overhead utility lines.

Regarding Joan Miró Avenue, in the section between Gomila Square and Pedrera Street, the sidewalks have been widened to improve pedestrian accessibility, the paving stones have been replaced, and the overhead power lines have been buried. In addition, new trees have been planted to increase shade in this area. All of this has represented an investment of €221,500.

Through cross-departmental collaboration, other actions have also been carried out to complement this Land Renewal Plan.

It has been reclaimed for the residents of El Terreno through various projects representing an investment of over €226,200. Calle del Agua Dulce

Furthermore, work is currently underway on Aigua Dolça Street, which, with an investment of €208,000, will improve existing sidewalks and create new ones where none previously existed, thus enhancing accessibility in the area. Looking ahead to 2026, the Renovation Plan will continue with further projects, included in next year's budget under various allocations for the renovation of Robert Graves Street (€750,000), Pedrera Street (€350,000), and Polvorí Street (€900).
