PorreresThe Porreres Apricot Fair is all set for its 13th edition, which has gradually established itself as one of the most special events on the calendar. This Saturday, the town's streets will be filled with colour, flavour, and creativity, with the apricot as the undisputed main and sole star.

The fair's market will feature over thirty exhibitors where visitors can find everything from fresh seasonal fruit (just harvested in Porreres) to an infinite array of surprisingly elaborate products. This year's offerings will include traditional jams, classic apricot cakes, and liqueurs, but there will also be room for innovation with proposals for artisan soaps, themed crafts, and various innovative gastronomic creations based on this fruit.

Beyond the recreational and commercial aspects, this year's edition has a strong advocacy element. The local agricultural sector faces major challenges, and the fair aims to be a platform of support for producers. The Councillor for Commerce of the Porreres Town Council, Xisca Mora, highlighted that, at a time when apricot trees "are increasingly suffering the effects of weather changes," the celebration of this fair becomes "a call to protect and value this product so unique to us, which is part of our landscape, our economy, and our identity".

For Mora, Saturday is the ideal opportunity to recognize the work of the primary sector: "Porreres will dress in orange to celebrate the apricot and all the farmers who, with their work, keep it alive".

The Councilor for Commerce wanted to conclude the message by wishing everyone a "magnificent fair" and recalling the true value of this event: "Amidst the aroma of the coques, the color of the apricots, and the enthusiasm of all the people participating, Porreres will surely once again demonstrate that fairs are much more than a market: they are a way of preserving who we are".
