Selling alcoholic beverages on a boat while you swim at the beach: the latest trend in Formentera.
The police have reported the seller, who faces a fine of 1,600 euros.

PalmA new model for tourists has arrived in Formentera: selling cocktails and alcoholic beverages from a boat to serve those swimming on the beaches. The Formentera Local Police have already reported a person for illegal street vending on Illetes beach for this practice.
According to the Formentera Council in a statement, the vendor was operating from a boat and offering alcoholic drinks to beachgoers, thus violating municipal and food safety regulations. At the time of the intervention, officers seized the equipment he used to prepare the drinks.
According to regulations, with this street vending offense, the accused faces a fine of 1,600 euros.
The Formentera Council has reminded everyone that street vending is prohibited, especially when it endangers public health, as is the case with the sale of prepared drinks. The institution has asked visitors and residents not to participate in these types of illegal activities, which represent unfair competition for the island's commercial fabric, and to notify the authorities if they find someone selling without a license.
